I created this recipe based on the ingredients that I happened to have in my fridge. I knew that I wanted it to be green, smooth, nutrient rich, with a touch of sweetness. Now I like making this smoothie in the morning, often storing it in a mason jar, so I can take it on the go with me. This smoothie is packed with fresh fruits and vegetables, and if you have a good blender you can whip this up in no time. If you plan on making this in the mornings, you can always pre-peel and cut some of the fruit.
Ingredients:
-1 fresh banana, coined
-1 fresh kiwi, peeled and sliced
-1 cup fresh spinach
-1/2 cup fresh kale (I used purple but you can use green if you prefer)
-1 ripe pear, cored and diced
-1 cup coconut milk (or soy milk)
-1/2 cup cold water
Directions:
1) Place the banana, kiwi, and pear in a blender. Throw in your spinach and kale. Top off with your coconut milk and cold water. Blend until smooth. Refrigerate and store in a tight jar or bottle if you are not going to drink it right away.
